Few Facts on Female Reproduction system
When it comes to reproduction system of women, there are lots of things involved here. But did you know that the reproduction system of a woman has multiple roles to play? Actually, it’s a huge description if you really want to know. But here’re some quick facts put together as long story short.
Labia majora: If you translate this word to word, it would stand out to be “large lips.” These organs do the job of enclosing and protecting the external reproductive parts. Usually they’re relatively larger and fleshy.
They have similarities with the scrotum of males. However, this part of women’s reproduction system contains sweat, along with oil-secreting glands. After teenage years, they get covered with pubic hair.
Labia minora: Just like the previous one, this would mean “small lips,” in plain English.
However this parts of a women’s reproduction system is usually very little and won’t exceed beyond 2 inches of width – at best. By design, they remain secured inside a woman’s labia majora. Labia minoria, encloses the opening to a woman’s vagina.
Bartholin’s glands: All women actually can feel lucky to have these glands. They remain right by the vaginal notch, for producing fluid (or mucus) secretion that a woman really needs.
Clitoris: This is the point where those 2 Labia minora meet. However, the clitoris is a tiny and very sensitive protrusion in a woman’s reproduction system that can be compared men’s penis. A woman’s clitoris remains covered by very thin skin fold – it’ known as the prepuce.
Vagina (birth canal): The canal joining the lower portion of uterus to a woman’s external reproductive system.
Uterus (womb): Technically speaking, it’s a hollow, pear shaped organ within a woman’s body, where a fetus (baby – loosely speaking) develops. The uterus has 2 parts: the cervix, and the corpus.
Besides this, the reproduction system of women also consists of vital parts like Ovaries (produces eggs/hormones) or Fallopian tubes (tunnels for egg cells).
